This week, Circle of Friends visited the Library Resource Center to hear ABC: I Like Me by Nancy Carlson. Alphabet books introduce and reinforce the visual identification of letters as well as the sounds that letters of the alphabet make. Alphabet books also introduce new vocabulary, new concepts, and can be just plain fun! Read another alphabet book with your child this week to continue the sights, sounds, and fun of the alphabet. Suggestions: Shiver Me Letters: a Pirate ABC by June Sobel and illustrated by Henry Cole; try also, Eating the Alphabet: Fruits and Vegetables from A to Z by Lois Ehlert.
